Another Station Award for Stonewest

Stonewest News

London Bridge was named ‘major station of the year’ at The National Rail Awards 2021. Having opened in 1836, it is one of the world’s oldest railway stations. In 2013, the station started a total transformation and Stonewest were appointed to carry out all the ‘heritage’ works to conserve the Grade I* listed facades. The National Rail Awards are known for their commitment to rewarding excellence across every aspect of the rail sector. The judges reward initiatives that demonstrate innovation and measurable improvements and we’re delighted they recognised our contribution to the work undertaken at London Bridge Station.

In addition, the redevelopment of Regents Crescent has been shortlisted for Building magazine’s Project of the Year. Stonewest recreated the classical architecture of the William Nash stucco facade using a combination of traditional techniques and modern innovation. The brief was to create ‘a masterpiece in modern living’. The outstanding work of everyone involved in the project ensured that objective was thoroughly achieved.
