Consultancy Services
From inception to completion, we provide value engineering and upfront specialist advice into the planning and design stages of a project.
Investigation, Survey & Technical Advice
Stonewest’s involvement at the inception stage of any project results in significantly greater clarity amongst all stakeholders through our ability to provide strategic and costed options and a fully considered project scope from the outset.
From project conception, Stonewest offer a variety of surveys and cost planning options tailored to suit all requirements and budgets. From initial binocular surveys through to itemised and prioritised condition surveys and defect analysis with annotated elevational drawings and photographs, to abseiling, drones and BIM modelling our survey reports are designed to be presented in a format that makes them accessible and easy to use.
Our experienced team can advise on the most appropriate cleaning methods and establish the most practical repair techniques enabling us to produce a project design and specification in line with the client’s programme, budget and needs.
Our team is highly skilled in the use of traditional materials such as stone, brick, terracotta and stucco. Whilst we always seek to adopt a ‘minimum intervention’ approach to repair, sometimes replacement is unavoidable and Stonewest’s expert teams are able to provide detailed analysis of existing building materials and use our international network of suppliers to source new material to match existing.

Material Selection, Detailing & Sampling
Stonewest’s international team represents a wealth of knowledge in the design and material supply of stone cladding, interiors, hard landscaping, faience and restoration materials.
We offer a one-stop, comprehensive service from assistance with material selection, advice on the detailing of stone profiles, sizes and joint patterns, to designing fixing systems and support structures, fabrication and supply to the installation of stonework and other hard bodied materials.
Stonewest can also advise on planning in the early stages of a project, producing programmes and logistics plans, alongside any other required information to ensure the smooth delivery of any size project.
CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Stonewest has always considered it important to share knowledge and experience and offers technical presentations on an in-house basis to Clients and Professionals relating to conservation, preservation and restoration of buildings.
These can be tailored to match specific requirements; previous lectures have included Regent Street Disease case studies at Selfridges, Conservation works at Wellington Arch, as well as the correct identification of defects and their remedies.
Our presentations are of relevance to those who are aware of their responsibilities when it comes to the care, repair and maintenance of historic and classical buildings. By passing on our knowledge and experience our aim is to give old buildings new life for future generations.
