Refurbishment of External Envelope at Four Millbank
Stonewest NewsStonewest were delighted to be instructed to carry out the refurbishment of the external envelope at Four Millbank. The 1916 Grade II listed building is home to a number of political broadcasting companies. It occupies a prominent position in the heart of London’s parliamentary estate, a short walk from the House of Commons and Whitehall and its central location makes it ideal for broadcasters to cover news stories as they break. It is also literally next door to Stonewest’s new offices in Dean Stanley Street.
Given the nature of the work to be undertaken, the project has been meticulously planned, for example the balcony from which well known broadcasters present many of their reports is to be kept free of scaffolding to maintain a clear view of the parliamentary backdrop.
Hot from a long running project at the iconic Shellmex House, the Stonewest team are used to undertaking work in challenging environments, including occupied buildings and feel it is something that differentiates us in the marketplace. The works will include scaffolding all elevations, cleaning and repair of the Portland limestone and brick facades and embellishments, repairs to roof, asphalte and rainwater goods, with redecorations completing the works to the classical facades.
