Launched in 2013 to recognise the growing opportunities in Asia, Stonewest (HK) has since matured into a leading Principal and Specialist Building Conservation contractor in the region.
In Hong Kong, Stonewest (HK) has ‘Registered General Building Contractor’ (RGBC) status. This official endorsement is reserved for technically proficient and qualified professional contractors. Our commitment to excellence is maintained by ensuring projects are signed off for compliance and quality assurance.
Stonewest (HK) also holds an accreditation for ‘Specialist Contractor in Repair and Restoration of Historic Buildings (RSC)’. We have worked on a diverse portfolio of award-winning projects such as the 2019 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation winning Tai Kwun.
Working in conjunction with local construction industry bodies Stonewest (HK) continues to invest in the training of local staff in the use of heritage materials and techniques, to date training over 30 operatives in such fields as Decorative Lime Plastering, Bricklaying and Stone Masonry.
Stonewest (HK) have also managed several projects where adaptive re-use of the building, through retention of the existing facade and key character defining elements has been critical to the rehabilitation of the structure and the surrounding area.
Acting as the headquarters for the Stonewest group in the region, the HK office has the expertise and experience of planning and overseeing international projects further afield, with previous projects including those in diverse locations such as Vietnam, Macau and Mainland China.
