Prince of Wales Theatre, London W1- Survey
Working for the Arts Team we carried out a meticulous inspection of the two principal facades constructed in reconstituted stone and render from an aerial mounted platform recording our findings on CAD drawings and spreadsheets which located all defects together with a description of; the level, the material and a coded defect. This was extended to a recommendation of remedial works together with sizes where appropriate and budget cost. Finally a priority rating was given to assist the Client and their professional team to match requirements with the budget.
- Hammer testing all areas of render to establish the proportion suffering defects and therefore to recommend the most aesthetically relevant areas to re-render. We also drilled a range of areas to establish thickness, removed areas for analysis and carried out samples of re-rendering to establish representative control samples.
- A range of cleaning samples on both materials to develop the specification.
- The report was supported by photographs and laboratory analysis reports on the render mixes.
